Quick Guide: Considering Installing a Pool? Where do I start?

Updated: Apr 16

STEP 1: Installing a pool involves more work than many anticipate......GET PRICING FIRST!

Begin by acquiring general pricing estimates. Any reputable pool company should be able to provide estimates for "standard" installations of small, medium, or large-sized pools.

STEP 2: GET A COPY OF YOUR PLOT PLAN!

Now that you understand the potential costs associated with pool installation, it is important to assess your property's specific conditions. Factors such as setbacks, wells, accessory structures, septic systems, utilities, and other elements will influence the placement and size of your pool. If you are unable to interpret the property plan yourself, consult a professional who can provide guidance.

STEP 3: Just because a pool fits on paper, it doesn't mean it will work in person. Do not proceed prematurely..... SET UP A SITE VISIT!

Prior to deciding on the shape, size, color, or placement of your pool, it is essential to conduct an on-site consultation with a professional. There may be unforeseen limitations within your yard that could influence both the dimensions and location of the pool installation. Factors such as wetlands, buried debris, rocks, boulders, or ledge can also increase the cost of installing a pool.

STEP 4: "I want a pool now!".... UNDERSTAND THE TIMELINE

Many individuals desire to have a pool installed promptly, ideally by the following week. However, the timing of your installation largely depends on how early you begin the preparation process. For some, the necessary paperwork and financial arrangements are already in place when they reach out to a pool company. Conversely, others may need to start from the beginning, which can extend the timeline by several months. The sooner one initiates a contract, the greater the likelihood of an earlier installation. We recommend commencing this process a year in advance.
