Advice on selecting a pool shell color

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

People often have a hard time selecting a color for their pool shell and therefore ask our opinions. So, here you go!

Because I interact with customers the most, both before and after their installations, I have become very in tune with how and why they choose their pool colors. Based on what I've seen (good or bad) over the past decade, I have grown a wealth of knowledge in this subject.

Below are just a couple of questions to ponder...

Do you want a pool that looks like the water is warm and inviting, or cool and refreshing?

To me, this is the most important question because I, myself, am drawn to one over the other every single time I see one of our clients' pools.

Warm and inviting colors: Sapphire Blue (below/top picture), Pearl White (below/bottom picture)

Cool and refreshing colors: Ocean Blue (below/top picture), Shale Gray (below/middle picture), Night Sky (below/bottom picture)

Think long-term.

Like everything else pool colors also go in and out of fashion. And for this, I blame social media. Currently, dark colors are all the rage (2020+). However, from about 2010-2020 lighter colors were the more popular. So it's important to really consider your overall taste and what you will continue to like years from now.
